Home Air Distribution
Air moves throughout as well as in and out of our homes in number of different ways. Some of the ways that air moves is controlled (i.e. heating/cooling/ventilation ducts, spot ventilation fans, etc.).

Air also moves in ways that are unintended and uncontrolled (i.e. leaky ducts, leaky building exterior, leaky windows, etc.). It is this unintended and uncontrolled movement of air that can lead to problems for building inhabitants, building performance, and the longevity of your building and the materials that make it up.

The Environmental House Home Air Distribution display outlines the various issues associated with home air distribution and includes a Mad Air model home. The Mad Air model home has working fans and motors that helps to visualize the complex nature of the movement of air throughout and in and out of the common home.

To learn more about air distribution systems, and the unintended and undetected movement of air, visit our Building Science Links, stop in for a demonstration Tour, or open the display posters below.
