| This staircase leading up to the upper deck was built mostly from Trex Wood-Polymer Lumber, a product manufactured from 50% recycled plastic and 50% sawdust. The material is heavy and solid, can be cut, nailed and screwed just like wood, and is very resistant to the weather. | ||||||||||||||||||

It
comes in several colors, including this dark grey, but can also be painted.
It is intended for outdoor uses like porches, docks and lawn furniture.
It cannot be used for long spans or to bear heavy loads unsupported.
