Cellulose Insulation
The En-House is also insulated partly by cellulose insulation. Cellulose insulation is made from 100% recycled newspaper. The insulation is treated with borate compounds, similar to the chemical found in eye drops, to act as a fire retardant and insect repellant. The insulation is easier to work with than fiberglass and maintains good indoor air quality. Loose-fill cellulose insulation is ideal for retrofitting framed homes with little or no insulation because it can be sprayed in to closed wall cavities.
