Engineered I Joists
The support for the ceiling of the Environmental House is made from Oriented Strand Board wooden I-joists. The wood for the joists comes from faster growing, more sustainable trees such as poplar. In many incidences, trees such as poplar are considered "junk" trees by the lumber industry and go wasted.
